Visit of the Lavender fields of the Plateau of Valensol and a distillery
It’s Lavender season! This is the most magical season in Provence and a magnificent display of natural beauty and pleasure: the air is filled with a relaxing lavender aroma, the bees relentlessly making the amazing lavender-infused honey, the violet colors contrasting with the golden wheat fields and the deep azure blue sky. And the place to view lavender fields in their full glory is definitely the Haute Provence region’s famed, Plateau de Valensole. Each year, starting from mid- to late-June through mid-July, this plateau of 800 meters in altitude pops to brilliant life with unbelievable landscape. Countless photo opportunities are to be had of the natural beauty of summer in Provence.

Moustiers-Ste-Marie is an old medieval village sitting at the base of a high rocky cliff with stunning view. A mountain stream runs through the village with waterfalls running down a deep gorge and provides a refreshing and picturesque scenery in the summer. You will enjoy the many faïence pottery shops and a faience museum. Moustiers has a rich history in ceramic craftsmanship and the faïence is renowned throughout Europe for its fine decoration since the 17th century.
